One of the best parts of being a Miss Universe preliminary judge is getting to know the other judges and the superb team behind the pageant. The night of the Presentation Show ends the preliminary competition at Miss Universe 2012, and it is also the last time all the preliminary judges are together. So I took the occasion to grab pictures.
I had fun all week with Carlos Anaya. The diversity advocate loves that he acts a media presence for bicultural Latinos. Check out his MY LifeStyle Magazine, with 2011 Miss Universe Leila Lopes on the current cover.
Amy Sadowsky from Planet Hollywood International was cheerful all week, and did an excellent job representing the host venue.
Then came lawyers in the house. I loved that there was another lawyer on the preliminary judging panel – Beverly Frank, Executive Vice Presidsent of Business Affairs and Operations for 19 Entertainment. 19 Entertainment is a division of CORE Media Group; it is co-producer of the television series “American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance.” Bev and I got a picture together, along with Andrea Berner – the General Counsel of Miss Universe Organization. This is proof that lawyers do in fact belong at beauty pageants!
Of course, I loved getting to know fellow judge Crystle Stewart. Back in 2008, I watched on television as she won the Miss USA title, so it was especially gratifying to spend time with her in person. Crystle is beautiful, poised and a total sweetheart.
We can’t forget the audit team from Ernst & Young, who worked work hard throughout the pageant. The auditors do everything with a smile, and I got to take a photo with them to prove the accountants do in fact smile.
Finally, there is the incomparable Paula Shugart, President of the Miss Universe Organization. Paula is an all-around class act. She is also the epitome of style and always rocks an awesome outfit!
It was another great week spent with so many wonderful people who help make the Miss Universe pageant a WIN!
